Monika Nilsson

ELECTED MEMBER

I have been working at the Central Bank of Luxembourg since 2010 in the Prudential Supervision department, where I am mainly in charge of SSM-related tasks.

In 2012, I joined the Staff Representation A-BCL, where I have since held various positions and currently hold the function of Vice President and Secretary.

Against the background of my Luxembourgish, German, Danish, Spanish and Italian family ties, my years of study in France as well as the international cooperation within the SSM, I have always had a keen interest in making a practical contribution to the European Project.

My first contact with SCECBU was in 2013 during a meeting of the Executive Committee, where I realized that the issues that preoccupy colleagues appear to be similar at all central banks. In particular, I was impressed by the team spirit of people who, although very different and coming from all parts of Europe, collaborate closely to achieve common goals. This has strengthened my motivation to actively participate and make my contribution.

I have been a member of the SSM working group since 2013 and I am the Co-ordinator of the working group on the ethical framework of the ESCB since 2023.
